The Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided on Monday to refer the provisions of the draft election law to the Legal Committee and experts of the United Nations and the Independent High Electoral Commission for a statement of technical opinion and adoption in the vote.
The Information Office of the First Vice-President of the House of Representatives, Hassan al-Kaabi, in a statement received / Mawazine News / a copy, that "the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, chaired by Mohammed Halbousi and the presence of Kaabi , To discuss the items of the draft law on the election of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. "
The statement added, "The meeting, which was attended by the representative of the United Nations Office in Iraq, discussed several important items, and it was decided to refer these items to the discussion in a joint meeting between the Legal Committee and the United Nations experts and experts of the Electoral Commission for the statement of technical opinion and adoption in the vote."
Al-Kaabi, addressing the heads of parliamentary blocs, said that "before the House of Representatives historic mission to proceed with the adoption of the Independent Electoral Commission and the election law," calling on them to "the importance of legislation sober election law restores the confidence of the Iraqi street in the electoral process and the political process, and the involvement of young people near the pulse of the street Today".
He demanded, "Allocate one quota seat to represent the segment of people with disabilities."
