disputes over the articles of the House of Representatives Electoral Law, particularly Article 15, have held the parliament session until further notice.
A parliamentary source told Mawazine News that "the Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided to give a deadline to the Legal Committee to hold its meeting until the controversy over Article 15 of the Iraqi Parliament’s election law was resolved with the participation of all representatives of political blocs."
The source added, “The Presidency of Parliament decided to postpone the session of the House of Representatives to an unspecified time,” pointing to “the transformation of the session that was hoped to be held into a deliberative meeting of the political blocs to resolve the dispute regarding Article 15 of the Electoral Law relating to the multiple constituency.” End 29 / 6 n
