The Saeron Alliance confirmed, on Saturday, that it will continue to work because of its direct link to the private office of Muqtada al-Sadr.
"We, as a joint of the Sadrist movement, are directly linked to the private office and continue to work," said the coalition deputy representative, Saad Maya, in a statement followed by Mawazine News.
Maya indicated that "the order of Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr was obeyed, whether in freezing or closing."
In a statement issued on Saturday night, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced the closure of the offices of the Sadrist movement and its withdrawal from political work.
Al-Sadr said, "I declare that I do not interfere in all political matters and that there is no bloc representing us anymore, nor any position inside or outside the government, nor parliament."
He added that "his decision also includes all offices of the Sadrist movement and their attachments at all religious, social and political levels."
