On Sunday, the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives will hold an important meeting to resolve the parliamentary blocs ’differences regarding the new election law.
Parliamentary sources told Al-Maalouma that the committee will meet today to discuss the election law, and the opinion of the political blocs has been taken in this regard, in addition to discussions with experts on the local and international scene and with the commission and the Ministry of Planning regarding the technical side and the executive mechanisms of the law that is still At the committee’s table, discussions are underway, and it will be decided on Sunday.
The sources added, "All political blocs support the law, but there is a difference in the mechanisms regarding the issue of the electoral denominator as one or multiple districts at the judicial level, because the application mechanism at the judicial level has many obstacles and it is difficult to apply on the ground of geographical reality."
