The caretaker head, Adel Abdel Mahdi, confirmed the readiness of the draft budget law for the year 2020 and the continuation of work until the formation of the next government.
Abdul-Mahdi said during a speech in the cabinet meeting that was broadcast on television this evening, that this government will continue until the formation of the new government and the handing over of tasks, stressing that it is not possible to imagine the existence of an administrative, political, security or governmental vacuum.
He added that the joyful thing is that there are contexts to form the new government and enable it within 30 days to choose the cabinet, indicating that consultations are continuing with the President of the Republic in this regard.
He explained that the message of the House of Representatives to the President of the Republic opens the right path for selecting the Prime Minister, and it is likely that the choice will take place in the coming days or hours.
And Abdul-Mahdi considered, the parliament’s letter to the President of the Republic has determined the largest bloc that chose the Prime Minister in 2018 and on the basis of which this government was formed.
He continued by saying, "Now the President of the Republic has a clear way to communicate with the blocs, calculate the numbers, and form a clear number to know the largest bloc, to assign a candidate from these blocs, and this is the constitutional task."
He stressed that the mission has become easier and clearer with the existence of these foundations, pointing out that this is a joyous thing that Iraq has fundamental legal and constitutional tools and contexts.
He continued, if he nominated a prime minister and was able to form his government, we will assist him in everything we can, whether by listening to the public or harmonizing with the legal contexts.

Abdul-Mahdi indicated that "a study talks about unprecedented progress in the non-oil sector in the three quarters of 2019," noting that "in the first semester, the non-oil gross national product reached 32.8 trillion dinars, and in the second semester it rose to 37.1 trillion dinars and in the third semester it rose to 40 trillion in the third quarter "returned to it" is a major achievement for the government, and the rate of development in the non-oil sector is 22%, which is a very big achievement and the government and people should be proud of it.
