The Tahrir Square protesters renew their rejection of party candidates and political blocs ... and the blue caps are re-spreading

The demonstrators of Tahrir Square, in the center of the capital, Baghdad, reiterated their categorical rejection of any candidate for prime minister that comes through political parties and blocs, affirming their insistence that the candidate must be satisfied and approved by the demonstration squares, while strikes and sit-ins continued in the other southern governorates.
The Tahrir Square also witnessed the return of the Sadrist owners of the Sadrist movement to the square to protect the demonstrators, after they withdrew from it last Tuesday.
The return of the blue hats owners to Tahrir Square was a strong impetus for the demonstrators after the past few days witnessed a decline in their numbers.
Meanwhile, President Barham Saleh extended the constitutional deadline for choosing a new prime minister as a substitute for Adel Abdel Mahdi until next Sunday.
Political sources have indicated that this extension will give room for everyone to choose a new prime minister who is acceptable to political blocs and protesters alike.
In this regard, Parliamentarian Muhammad Al-Khalidi stated that a group of deputies sent yesterday a letter to President Saleh that includes the nomination of former Minister of Communications Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi as prime minister.
Al-Khalidi added that this choice came after meeting with the demonstrators and members of Parliament and listening to their opinions and visions of the candidate, which was very popular.
He continued: We will work to send another supplement with new signatures to the President of the Republic, as we did not complete the signatures, the day before yesterday, due to the preoccupation with the issue of the electoral law.
In the same context, an informed source revealed that the "Saeron" alliance of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, does not mind assigning Mohamed Tawfiq Allawi to form the next government.
Meanwhile, Salim Hamza, a member of the Legal Committee in Parliament, called for the speedy settlement of the name of the candidate to become prime minister, warning of a big problem and a constitutional and administrative vacuum.
He said: In the event that the period specified constitutionally for the appointment of a candidate for prime minister ends, the President of the Republic will take over the functions of the Prime Minister, but he will not be able to nominate the names of new ministers or receive any names for candidates for ministries.
And that this situation makes us need to speed up resolving the name of the prime minister candidate in order not to fall into a constitutional, governmental and administrative vacuum, as it is a big problem.
