    Baghdad / news
An Iraqi political source revealed the scenes of agreements and consultations in the past 48 hours to choose a candidate for the post of prime minister, and the role of the official of the Iraq file in the Lebanese Hezbollah, Muhammad Kawtharani, in it.
The source said, "Kawtharani met in the past two days political leaders from the Al-Fateh bloc led by Hadi al-Amiri and the State of Law coalition headed by Nuri al-Maliki."
He continued, "Kawtharani also met the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Erez Masjidi, and figures from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard from the Quds Force, charged with choosing the prime minister from the special division of the Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani."
The source emphasized that "Kawtharani was asked to support the nomination of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Qusay Al-Suhail to the post of Prime Minister."
The source pointed out that "Kawtharani pledged to the Lebanese Hezbollah for financial support for him if Al-Suhail assumed the position by guaranteeing contracts for shadow companies affiliated with the party in the field of marketing and transporting Iraqi oil."
    Projects for the party
The pledge also states, according to the source, to "provide support to the Lebanese Hezbollah for allocating major projects in Iraq to companies and fronts of the party, and to open financial doors in the Central Bank of Iraq to withdraw and transfer funds to exchange companies and private banks affiliated with Hezbollah."
He added, "In return, the Lebanese Hezbollah movement undertakes with its Iranian partners and the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, to impose Qusay al-Suhail's candidacy for the post of prime minister and to cancel all nominations that rival him."
He pointed out that "on this basis Qusay Al-Suhail pledged to Al-Kawtharani to implement the terms of the agreement, and the two left Baghdad yesterday, Wednesday, to Qom on a secret visit to meet the Shiite cleric Moqtada Al-Sadr, in an attempt to persuade him to support Al-Suhail's candidacy, to return to Iraq today, Thursday."
The source said, "Kawtharani was primarily the godfather of Al-Suhail's assumption of the position of head of higher education in the current government. The two are linked to an economic partnership in several fields, including the establishment of private universities owned by the Lebanese Hezbollah in Iraq."
Al-Suhail is a former member of the Shiite leader Moqtada Al-Sadr's movement, and later joined the State of Law bloc, which is led by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
Al-Suhail took the position of first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament after the 2010 election cycle, but he resigned from his post in February 2014.
