Al-Murshidi: Sharp differences between the Shiite blocs on the candidate for prime minister

MP Asaad Al-Murshidi announced: "The political blocs' dialogues did not reach a candidate who was agreed upon to head the cabinet, succeeding Adel Abdul Mahdi, until now."
Al-Murshidi said in a press statement: "The differences are profound, especially between the blocs of the Shiite component, which prevailed in the custom to be the position of its share over the past years."
He added: "The candidates who were presented to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, were all rejected, because they are not independent and do not meet the conditions set by the demonstrators."
Al-Murshidi pointed out: "The prevailing position in many parliamentary circles is not to vote for a non-independent candidate, whatever the circumstances, but rather will stand in the face of those attempts."
