Follow-up / ... American press reports revealed today, Sunday, that the National Security Council led by US President Donald Trump is holding intensive meetings, after targeting the "Key One" base in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing one American soldier and wounding others.

The Wall Street Journal reported that intensive National Security Council meetings, led by US President Donald Trump, are being held to discuss the attack on the Iraqi Kirkuk base, which killed an American and wounded other American soldiers.

"President Trump has been briefed on the incident, and he is still working closely with his national security team to monitor the situation," a US administration official said.

According to the report, some missiles hit the ammunition storage depot at the base, which led to several explosions, according to preliminary estimates provided to US defense officials.

"This is the 11 missile attack in the past two months, which has been carried out against Iraqi bases, where American forces have been present," the US defense official said. These attacks have become a source of grave concern to the Pentagon.

A US defense official announced that an American contractor killed and wounded 4 American soldiers when, on Friday, more than 30 rockets were fired at an Iraqi military base.

The attack comes two weeks after Secretary of State Mike Bombo issued a statement warning that any missile attacks by Iran or its proxies in Iraq that harm the Americans "will be answered decisively."

The Trump administration did not disclose the group suspected of carrying out the attack. The US official added that the US military is focusing on a possible link to Iran's Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia. Finished 2
