{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A member of the Anti-Corruption Council, Saeed Yassin Moussa, revealed the involvement of political figures in oil, border and customs files.
Moussa said (for Furat News) that "the integrity of integrity has a general policy that it follows and its outputs go to the judiciary that decides the cases," noting that "whatever you do and provided from the efforts, the judiciary remains the last link in this work."
He added, "Therefore, we see as an indication in the anti-corruption file that the defendants convicted in absentia escape the corruption charges, which turns this file into a file into a recovery, which is a great obsession which impeded many law enforcement besides the issue of recovering the accused because it does not have multilateral agreements with countries in this matter."
He added, "The Anti-Corruption Council has worked to follow up on previous decisions and implement what was read at previous meetings," noting that "despite the delay in the absence of the third side {the offices of the general inspectors}, the issues went somewhat smoothly with the disruption of the side of the executive institutions."
Moussa affirmed, "Political figures (who he did not name) were involved in all the files, starting with customs, borders, oil, and real estate, individually and partisan."
Moussa concluded by saying, "The political determinants are driving the issues of the corruption file, and Iraq today needs an honorable political will to contain this dangerous file."
