The ministry’s spokesman, Hamid Al-Nayef, confirmed, according to the statement, that“ the prevention process came as a result of the abundance of the local product. ”
Al-Nayef added, “The decision granted ten days to importers who had prior approval and who entered part of the imported consignments, to give them enough time to complete the remainder of them.” Noting that “the ministry’s policy is to protect the local product on the one hand and protect the consumer on the other hand and by applying The agricultural calendar, in addition to the data received from the directorates of agriculture that show the availability or scarcity of the local agricultural product, in both its vegetable and animal sectors, calling on all border outlets to commit to implementing this decision in support of the protection of the local product.
