, Oil Minister Thamer Al-Ghadban announced, on Wednesday, the adoption of modern and advanced methods to reduce the smuggling of petroleum products, confirming the achievement of profits for national companies.
Al-Ghadban said, "The Ministry of Oil signed a contract for the accreditation and installation of a system to detect clarifications and abuses on pipelines carrying oil products, and the contract is in the implementation phase."
He added, "All the oil pipelines inside Iraq will operate with the GPS system, which enables the authorities concerned to monitor and follow the movement of tanks throughout the country, and to detect abuses and violations that may occur here and there, while the system (ESCAD) will be adopted to detect the abuse of Crude oil pipelines with the aim of theft and so on, which helps the technical and engineering authorities to move quickly to handle and control emergency situations, as well as the energy police and security agencies to arrest those involved in a short time. "
The Minister of Oil stressed, "Any tanker carrying black oil fuel is considered a smuggler, with the exception of the tanks of the land transport companies and the distribution of oil products, and that the recent contracts restricting the marketing of black oil to (SOMO) company and the operations of transportation in the companies of the Ministry of Transport and Oil, achieve profits for national companies, and limits the operations of Smuggling. ”Ended 29 / A 43
