[size=18]The international coalition against ISIS announced today, Thursday, its need for further clarification regarding the legal nature of the Iraqi parliament’s decision to leave foreign forces from Iraq.

The international coalition against ISIS announced today, Thursday, its need for further clarification regarding the legal nature of the Iraqi parliament’s decision to leave foreign forces from Iraq.

The coalition said, in a statement seen by Alsumaria News, that the international coalition against ISIS has currently suspended military activities in Iraq to focus on protecting Iraqi bases hosting the coalition members, noting that the activities that were suspended include training with partners and supporting their operations against ISIS.

The statement added that the coalition is focusing its efforts in five areas, despite the suspension of military activities at the present time, explaining that the activities continue naturally, including combating harmful ISIS propaganda, achieving stability and disrupting funding.

"We are awaiting further clarification on the legal nature and impact of the decision on foreign forces that are no longer allowed to stay in Iraq, which was approved by the Iraqi parliament on Sunday, January 5," he added, adding that we believe it is in the common interests of all coalition partners (among them Iraq), to continue fighting against ISIS.

And the Iraqi parliament voted in early January, on a decision obligating the government to work to end the presence of any foreign forces on Iraqi soil, during an extraordinary session in the presence of Abdul-Mahdi.

An estimated 5,000 American forces have been in Iraq since 2014, as part of the international coalition to fight ISIS.

And the international coalition, which consists of about eight thousand foreign soldiers, confirms that its forces are present in Iraq, at the invitation of the Iraqi government, to fight ISIS, after Iraq joined the international coalition in 2014.
