According to local Iranian sources, there are reports of the resignation of three senior Iranian officials, amid anger in the country over the incident of [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/134060/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D8%A6%D8%B1%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%88%D9%83%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%A9][size=13]the Ukrainian plane being[/url] shot down in the airspace of the capital Tehran.
The three officials are Ishaq Jahangiri, Iran's Vice President, Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the National Security Council, and Ali Rabei, a government spokesman.
Later, the Iranian "Tabnak" website, citing a source in the Jahangiry office, denied the news of his resignation, and the newspaper "Economics Online" denied the news of Rabei’s resignation.
Other sources reported that close to Shamkhani suggested that he resign, because he is under pressure as a result of the non-flight ban while targeting the "Ain al-Assad" base in Iraq, and keeping quiet about the downing of the Ukrainian plane, according to "Russia Today".
The plane fell minutes after taking off on a flight between Tehran and Kiev, at dawn on Wednesday, as a result of an air defense missile, amid an alert in Iran, where the accident occurred after the country's bombing of sites in Iraq, including American forces, in response to the assassination of General "Qasim Soleimani" in Baghdad Days before it.
And Saturday, Iran officially admitted the downing of the plane "wrongly", followed by the departure of hundreds of demonstrators in Tehran, some of them chanting slogans calling for the resignation of officials, and some of them included the leader, Ali Khamenei.
All of the 176 passengers on board the plane were killed: 82 Iranians, 57 Canadians, 11 Ukraine, 10 Swedes, four Afghans, three Germans and three Britons.
