America rejects Iraq’s request to withdraw the forces and intentionally expanding the mission of NATO, defying Iran and those that refuse to stay

Washington rejected an Iraqi request to prepare for the withdrawal of its forces amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran after the killing of a senior Iranian commander in a US attack in Baghdad, and said it was considering expanding the presence of NATO there.
Washington intends to expand the NATO mission, noting Iran and those that refuse to stay, according to analyzes received in the obelisk as well.
In an attempt to intensify pressure on its arch foe, the United States imposed additional sanctions on Iran in response to Tehran attacking US forces in Iraq in retaliation for the killing of General Qassem Soleimani.
Iraq seems to bear the brunt of the escalation of violence, given that it is the main arena for the military confrontation between the United States and its neighbor, Iran. Its leaders face a dilemma because Washington and Tehran are also key allies of the Iraqi government and are fighting to impose influence there.
US President Donald Trump said that Iran was most likely planning to attack the United States embassy in Baghdad and was aiming to attack four US embassies when a U.S. strike with the Soleimani jet plane was killed.
"We will inform you that it was most likely the embassy in Baghdad," Trump said in an excerpt from an interview with Fox News. "I can reveal that I think it may have been four embassies," he added.
A statement from the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said that he submitted his request during a call with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday, in line with the Iraqi parliament’s vote last week.
The statement added that Abdul-Mahdi asked Pompeo to "send delegates to Iraq to lay down the mechanisms for implementing the House of Representatives decision to securely withdraw troops from Iraq."
The statement continued, "There are American forces entering Iraq and American marches flying in his sky without permission from the Iraqi government, and this is in violation of the agreements in force."
The US State Department said that no American delegation will discuss the withdrawal of US forces because their presence in Iraq is "appropriate."
"However, there is a need for dialogue between the US and Iraqi governments not only in terms of security, but also about our financial, economic and diplomatic partnership," State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagos said in a statement.
Trump said during the interview with Fox News that if Iraq wanted to leave the US forces, we would tell him, "You have to pay us the money that we paid."
"I think they will agree to pay. Otherwise, we will remain there. ”
Pompeo told reporters that a NATO delegation in Washington on Friday to discuss the future of the mission in Iraq and a plan "to share the burden in the region".
On the other hand, the Foreign Ministry said Pompeo had discussed the issue of Iran with Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champaign as well as “an opportunity to expand NATO's strength in Iraq and share the burden proportionately”.
The latest escalation of the proxy war between the two rival countries began with the killing of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, in a US air strike in Baghdad on January 3. Iran responded on Wednesday by firing missiles at US forces in Iraq.
The two sides declined to fan the conflict afterward, but tensions remain in the region, as Iranian military leaders threaten to launch more attacks.
Iraq is struggling to recover after decades of war, sanctions and sectarian conflict, including US-led invasions and the rise and fall of al Qaeda and ISIS.
In Friday prayers in Tehran, an Iranian cleric said that American interests around the world are now threatened.
"This dominant regime has many military bases ... especially in the region, from now on, these bases will not be an advantage for them," Muhammad Jawad Haj Ali Akbari told worshipers at a mosque.
Since the killing of Soleimani, Tehran has intensified its calls for the departure of American forces from Iraq. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that Iran's retaliatory strikes are not enough, adding that ending the US military presence in the region is the main goal.
Critics have said the killing of Soleimani was reckless.
But Pompeo said on Friday that Washington had specific information about an imminent Iranian threat that included US embassies, adding "American lives were in danger."
As part of his latest activities in Iraq, Soleimani encouraged the Iraqi factions to quell the Iraqi protests that have been going on for months, and which oppose the influence of foreign powers in their countries such as Iran and the United States.
Demonstrators took to the streets in Iraqi cities on Friday, intending to continue their protests, despite paying attention to the threat of conflict between the United States and Iran.
