Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stressed his country's keenness to stabilize Iraq and the region.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara, Hassan al-Janabi, met with Turkish Defense Minister Khulusi Akar, and during the meeting they discussed the most important international and regional issues of common concern.
Al-Janabi mentioned that Iraq rejects violations and prevents wars on its soil, pointing out that national security is inseparable from regional security and that the cornerstone of this is combating terrorism and achieving economic development.
For his part, the Turkish Defense Minister put forward the Turkish view and vision to achieve security across the border and its concern for the stability of Iraq and the region, calling for the continuation of security cooperation between the two countries.
