Today, Monday, Yonhap News reported the first case of outbreaks of pneumonia in China in South Korea.
The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that a Chinese woman who entered through Incheon International Airport to South Korea on Sunday, contracted pneumonia, which is believed to be a new strain of the coronavirus in Wuhan, China.
The Chinese woman was examined after her isolation because of symptoms such as fever in the arrival hall at Incheon International Airport, and was receiving treatment in the isolation ward.
The United Nations Health Agency earlier revealed that a newly emerging virus linked to the deadly SARS cause may be responsible for the sudden outbreak of pneumonia in China.
The World Health Organization said a series of severe pneumonia cases may be related to a strain of what is known as "corona viruses," adding that it will need to collect more data to confirm suspicions.
