(Basra: Al Furat News) The Basra Police Command revealed, on Thursday, that 16 law enforcement personnel were injured in the demonstrations in the governorate.
A statement by the leadership stated that "despite the security services continuing to provide protection for our protesting children in Basra Governorate, in recent days a group of those who did not like to see Basra appeared to be safe and tried to cause riots."
He added, "As a result, 16 members of the law-enforcement forces who were isolated from the weapon were severely injured by the boredom, who were trying to ignite the fire of discord in our beloved sight by throwing incendiary bottles and stones towards them by the intruders trying to distort the demonstrations from their peaceful path."
"The police force is committed to restraint to stave off sedition and thwart their plans to destabilize security and stability in the province."
