President of the Republic Barham Salih discussed, Thursday, with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg the latest decision of Parliament regarding the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq, while the latter stressed that foreign forces have their mission to train and provide military support to the Iraqi armed forces.
A statement of the office of Saleh received / Mawazine News /, a copy of it, that "President Saleh received, at his residence in Davos, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, to discuss the recent decision of the House of Representatives on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq."
Saleh stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Iraq and its independent decision, as well as the security situation was reviewed and the need to root out terrorism and support security and stability in Iraq and the region."
