Reference: The next parliament is on reform
Karbala / Morning
The supreme religious authority confirmed, on Friday, that the next parliament is concerned with taking the necessary steps for reform and issuing crucial decisions that determine the future of the country, demanding to return to the polls "due to the divisions witnessed by the political forces", while warning against the attack of some security forces and government agencies and acts of sabotage and threat against some educational and service institutions,
It categorically rejected the attempt to break up peaceful gatherings and sit-ins using violence and force.
"It has been four months since the popular movement demanding reform and ridding the country of the corruption and failure that has engulfed the various state institutions and departments, during which time a lot of innocent blood has been shed and thousands of citizens have been injured, and there are still some collisions that result in more innocent victims," said Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbali, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Karbala, in his Friday sermon from inside the courtyard.
Al-Karbali added that "the religious reference, while reaffirming its condemnation of the use of violence against peaceful demonstrators and the assassinations and kidnappings of some of them, and its categorical rejection of the attempt to disperse peaceful gatherings and sit-ins using violence and force, at the same time rejects the actions of some of the attacks on Security forces, government agencies and acts of sabotage and threats against some educational and service institutions and everything that disturbs the security of citizens and harms their interests, and warns that these unjustified actions will not work as a substitute for the mass presence to press for a response for reformist demands, on the contrary lead to a decline in solidarity with the protest movement and participants
"On the other hand, the continuation of the current crisis and political, economic and security instability is not in the interest of the country and the future of its people, it is necessary to prepare to get out of it by speeding up the formation of the new government, and must be a government worthy of the confidence of the people and able to calm the situation and restore the prestige of the state and take the necessary steps to hold free and fair elections at the earliest opportunity.
The representative of the reference explained that "going back to the ballot boxes to determine what the people see is the appropriate choice in the present situation, given the divisions witnessed by the political forces of different components, and the differences of views between them in what is priority in the next phase, and the inability to agree on the necessary reforms that most citizens demand, thus exposing the country to more risks and problems, it is imperative to speed up the holding of early elections to say the people and the next Parliament of free will is concerned with taking the necessary steps for reform and issuing decisions. The fate that determines the future of the country, especially in terms of preserving its sovereignty and the independence of its political decision and its unity on the ground and people."
"In conclusion, it remains to be noted that the religious authority strongly condemns the unjust plan recently unveiled to give (legitimacy) to the occupation of more usurped Palestinian territories, and it confirms its stand with the oppressed Palestinian people in their right to restore their occupied territories and establish an independent state, and calls on Arabs, Muslims and all the free people of the world to support them," al-Karbali said.
