An Iraqi lawmaker calls on US forces to "pay rent" for the lands they occupy

An independent member of the House of Representatives, Kazem Al-Sayyadi, confirmed on Sunday that the American forces occupy important sites inside [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] without paying a rent allowance to the Iraqi state, asking the government to compel the American side to pay a rent allowance to occupy state lands.
"The Americans occupy part of the Iraqi airspace, in addition to usurping another part of the land without paying the rent charges," Al-Sayyadi said in a statement to "The Information."
He added that "the Americans occupy lands that were acquired by illegal and illegitimate means and these lands belong to the state." He asserted that "the government can ask the Americans to pay a rent allowance for every land acquired since 2003 until now."
