"
The President of the Republic, Barham Ahmed Salih, commissioned the former Minister of Communications, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, on Saturday evening to form an interim government that would pave the way for early elections in Iraq .
Allawi issued in a speech after his appointment a number of pledges, the most prominent of which is the non-acceptance of any candidate imposed by the political forces in forming his government, to proceed in preparing for early parliamentary elections, confining arms to the state, and holding the protesters' killers accountable, calling for the necessity of continuing demonstrations in the country.
