On Monday, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation rejected the US President Donald Trump's plan for peace in the Middle East, considering it "biased and adopting the Israeli version" of the conflict, and called on its members not to deal with the plan or cooperate with the US administration to implement it.
The organization, which includes 57 countries based in Jeddah, said in a statement after an emergency meeting of its foreign ministers, that it "rejects this American-Israeli plan because it does not meet the minimum aspirations and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."
And it called on all of its members to "not deal in any way with this plan or cooperate with the efforts made by the American administration to implement it."
The organization, which represents more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, stressed "the centrality of the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Al-Sharif in its core to the entire Islamic nation and reaffirms the Arab and Islamic character of occupied East Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Palestine."
She stressed that "peace and security in the Middle East region as a strategic option will be achieved only by ending the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to restore their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and sovereignty in the air and sea fields."
At the opening of the meeting, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said that the plan "cannot be called a peace plan because the Palestinians are not part of it and it eliminates all chances for peace," according to "AFP." 25 h has ended
