[size=18]Doaa Khalif, Director of the Education and Scientific Research Department at the League of Arab States, revealed that there are 13 million Arab children without formal education.

On the sidelines of the Arab Decade for Literacy and Adult Education, Khalifa said, "13 million Arab children have no formal education in schools, and that they are increasing the rate of illiteracy in the Arab world."

She added: "We launched the interactive platform experimentally last year and it is important, and it will be available to all Arab countries. Through the questionnaire on the platform, every country presents its efforts and experiences to eradicate illiteracy. We have received experiences and efforts from Egypt and Palestine and we are waiting for information from the rest of the countries until the official launch of the site ".

Khalifa said, "Every country has a national plan or strategy to implement, but we pay great attention to the children of countries that suffer from conflict and armed conflict so that these children in the countries of asylum or in the camps do not lack the most basic elements and alphabets of education."

She stressed that "illiteracy represents the most important challenges facing the Arab world because of the political conditions it is experiencing from armed conflicts and conflicts with some cultural and social heritage such as early marriage, family disintegration, local economic situation, child labor, poverty and living conditions."
