deputy of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, confirmed on Wednesday that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, does not have the authority to cancel the mandate in accordance with the constitution, stating that the only concerned parliament in this case is not to vote on the government program.
Nassif said in a statement to "Information", that "talking about the existence of attempts by the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to cancel his assignment to Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, is not related to any mechanisms of the constitution because the President of the Republic does not have that authority in accordance with the constitution."
She added that "the data that were provided to Allawi will be provided to others, as the commissioning process took place under the division of the street, as well as the political blocs, and the next will also be among those data only.
