The Director General of Baghdad Health, Rusafa Abdul-Ghani Al-Saadi, announced Thursday that he is going to file a lawsuit against all banks that have been reluctant to pay the salaries of the department’s employees before the competent courts and legally prosecute them.
Al-Saadi said in a statement that "the banks pledged, when transferring salaries via the electronic payment card, to pay the salaries of employees within the specified times and not delay them."
Al-Saadi added that "the banks have broken the covenant and signed legally and delayed their payment despite the existence of penal and legal conditions in the event of delay in salaries beyond the specified date", indicating that "delaying salaries is repeated for several months in a row for the specified date, which requires no silence."
He explained that "the department and through the legal department will go to the competent courts and file lawsuits against all government and private banks in arrears with the payment of salaries to employees," stressing "the health of Al-Rusafa will legally sue them to prevent the recurring of the repeated breaches that have affected the work of employees and their interests and violate administrative and legal regulations."
