Political sources revealed that some blocs are trying to thwart Allawi's government by voting to not give him confidence, especially after Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi confirmed the formation of a ministerial cabinet away from the parties, in addition to his ongoing meetings with demonstrators and some national figures.
The sources said that "a political bloc supporting the Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Allawi, intends to withdraw its support for him because of Allawi meeting with a number of Iraqi demonstrators and activists." Noting that “Allawi is moving quickly with a special team, the majority of whom are close to him, and three Iraqi university professors, one of whom is a researcher at a British studies center on Middle East affairs, to hold meetings with a number of demonstrators and activists, who are influential in popular protests to reach peaceful solutions that satisfy everyone and verify The legitimate demands of the demonstrators. ”
She added, “Some politicians are resentful about Allawi’s meetings with activists and protesters.
The MP, Amjad Al-Uqabi, had confirmed, earlier, that the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi meets four to five delegations every day, indicating that Allawi wants to choose his government himself.
