The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee revealed the low level of suicides in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to zero in recent months.
A member of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Yousra Rajab, said in a press statement that "the peaceful demonstrations by which the people of the people, especially the youth of them, gave new hope to them to change the reality of the situation in the country towards the better."
She added, "Despite some of the events that happen here or there in the demonstration squares, they have contributed to reducing suicide rates among young people in recent months."
According to a statement issued by the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, the number of suicides increased from 383 during 2016 to 519 in 2018.
For its part, the High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed that the social and psychological pressures that were pushing young people to commit suicide are pushing them to the protesting arenas.
UNHCR member Ali Akram al-Bayati said, "The demonstrations have become another platform to relieve this pressure experienced by young people.
And that "suicides did not decrease, but rather changed the mechanism for dealing with them involuntarily with the citizen who was prepared for that.
