A statement issued by the RUF after its meeting headed by Osama Al-Nujaifi, the RUF head yesterday evening, said: The RUF supports Allawi according to the conditions that established the RUF statement in the immediate aftermath of commissioning from completely independent personalities from any party or political bloc, and that the new government accomplishes the demands of the popular movement and its goals according to a program advertiser.
He added that: The front will not nominate any person to assume any position in the government and work to achieve early elections with a ceiling that does not exceed a year, after the completion of laws and procedures that guarantee fair elections with the participation and supervision of the United Nations.
The statement indicated the importance of the government program to include the ministry’s plan to bring those responsible for targeting protesters to justice, and to fight corruption in a transparent, measurable legal way. The Prime Minister and the ministers of the new government should not run in the upcoming elections.
He continued: The front will work with the largest number of members of the House of Representatives with a view to fighting quotas, support the efforts of the Prime Minister-designate not to nominate names or demand quotas, and make room for Allawi to choose members of his government.
