, the legal expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, revealed on Saturday the punishment of those accused of selling government positions.
Al-Tamimi said in a publication: "The Iraqi Penal Code punished articles 307 and beyond for bribery with penalties of up to seven years imprisonment and paid law 160 for the year 1983 so that it brought them to 10 years."
He added: "Article 310 of the Penal Code punishes the briber and the bribe-bearer, as well as the mediator, with the same penalty, even if the employee wanted to obtain the money without doing the work, he would be punished with the same punishment above."
Al-Tamimi added, “A specialized court for corruption cases has been established, and I believe that the severity of the punishment and the speedy resolution of the procedures will greatly assist in the very important deterrence at this stage, after the fall of this large number of martyrs revolting against this corruption.” End 29 / A 43
