Al-Rikabi: I refused to receive the health portfolio under Allawi's government

Activist Alaa al-Rikabi, who was nominated by demonstrations in several governorates for the post of prime minister, confirmed his refusal to receive the health portfolio in the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.
Al-Rikabi said in a press interview that he did not think of the position of prime minister, "not because he is afraid of the position, but the revolution is more important than to covet such a position."
He added: "If commissioning of the first step occurred, the formation of an advisory committee from all sit-in arenas in Iraq to discuss the selection of ministers, each governorate would put the names of 30 qualified personalities to form the government, and thus we would get 19 candidates for each ministry and we would discuss the most efficient according to CVs through a working team and not personal decisions." .
He continued: "All the security services will be reviewed and professional officers will be put in place. As for the officers who belong to the parties, they will not have a sensitive position, and the governors will be replaced by competent people."
Al-Rikabi denied his relationship with Al-Fadila party or Sheikh Al-Yaqoubi and the same matter of the Sadrist movement, stating: "I do not think that the Sadrist movement will support me."
On the reasons for his support for Allawi's candidacy, he attributed this to preserving the demonstrators because of Allawi's internal and external support, explaining: "I had a severe fear in facing the current ... This is what we saw in Najaf and other provocative places and my words were (a proposal) and not support for Allawi Two days later, we proposed a vote on the choice of the prime minister's candidate. "
He concluded, "Tawfiq Allawi's office consultants called me to make me Minister of Health, but I refused."
