He added that "the differences are profound because of the adherence of the Sunni and Kurdish blocs to their ministerial positions and the failure to give way to Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to choose the names independently."
Al-Bayati said, “Allawi's insistence not to meet the heads of political blocs and lack of understanding on the names is to hold the political situation, especially with the end of the deadline for Allawi’s legal deadline to present his cabinet,” noting that “the failure of Allawi’s government will lead to an unprecedented political crisis in the country.”
