The Kurdish delegation to Baghdad revealed, on Saturday, an agreement with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi on the federal government's continuation of sending the budget and salaries of employees in the Kurdistan region.
Member of the Kurdish negotiating delegation, Diaa Boutros, told Mawazine News that "there is optimism that prevails in the Kurdish delegation in Baghdad and we hope to reach a satisfactory result with the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi in our meeting with him tonight."
He added, "The past meetings were frustrating and lacked respect for the entity and the constitution. We are not students of authority and positions, but whoever represents the Kurds in the Iraqi government must be for us and not an anonymous person."
He continued: "We agreed with Allawi to continue sending money earmarked for salaries and budget and all previous agreements signed in the government of Abdul-Mahdi continue, but there is no paper agreement only orally." End / 29 / h
