On Sunday, legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said that Parliament can hold a voting session for the government after a request submitted by more than 50 deputies to convene it, pointing out that Allawi cannot set a date for the session because he has not yet acquired the capacity of the Prime Minister.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to the "information", that "Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi does not have the right to hold the parliament session because he is still expensive and has not yet been approved, and Abdul Mahdi does not have the right to call the parliament session because it is a caretaker."
He added, "Three parties can call for a parliament session, which is the president of the republic, as well as parliament. A request was submitted by 50 deputies to hold the parliament session."
And that "Allawi must hand over the parliament his ministerial platform and cabinet names before holding the emergency parliament session, in accordance with the internal rules of parliament in Article 11, 34, 37 and 58 of the constitution, which stipulates that the session be allocated to the topic that has been called for."
He noted that "Parliament can hold the session at the request of more than 50 representatives, and if the parliament presidency does not include the subject of voting on the government in the agenda, then half of the parliament plus one can hold the session, and if this is rejected, it is possible to resort to the Federal Court to decide it."
Al-Tamimi ruled out holding the parliament session tomorrow, Monday, as a result of the existing political differences. 25 n ended
