Barzani's party: The steps of the prime minister-designate are not trustworthy
The Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Masoud Barzani questioned the seriousness of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi’s handling of the political components in forming his government.
A member of the Democratic Party, Bashar Al-Kiki, said in a press statement: "The Kurds will not vote for Allawi's government in the event that positive results were not reached during negotiations with him," noting: "Allawi must review his current procedures with which he deals with all components."
Al-Kiki added: "The steps of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi are not satisfactory to us, because they are not trusted and reassured, so what needs to be reviewed is the current procedures he deals with the Kurdish component and other components."
He explained: "The negotiations will continue with Allawi by a unified Kurdistan team, because the cab file concerns all Kurdish parties, as it was agreed within the Kurdish house to continue the dialogue."
