Iraqi President Barham Saleh announced that he would begin consultations to select an alternative candidate to head the government, after the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi’s apology for assigning him to form the government apologized. Allawi indicated that he was subjected to political pressure in Parliament that hindered the passing of the government, calling on the demonstrators to continue their sit-ins until their demands are met.

After the failure of the Iraqi parliament for the second time in four days, in passing the formation of the new government .. He confirmed in a tweet on Twitter, his innocence of those he described as corrupt who he said were manipulating the fate of the Iraqi people .
For his part, the head of the "homeland first" coalition in parliament, Muthanna al-Samarrai, invited Allawi to unveil the secrets of the dialogues forming his government, expressing his hope that Iraq would overcome the current political repercussions .
While Member of Parliament for the "Kurdistan Democratic Party" Diyar Barwari said that the Kurdish forces reject what he called the imposition of wills by Allawi .
The deputy of the "Al-Hikma" movement, Ali Al-Aboudi, said that the results were expected, and stressed the need for any government to be formed to take into account the views of the Kurdish and Sunni powers .
The parties affiliated with these two components demand that they nominate the candidates to take over the ministerial portfolios, not the president in charge .
Simultaneously, thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tahrir Square, central Baghdad ... rejecting the government with its current composition. They considered it calculated by the well-known political blocs and demanded that it be chaired by an independent figure .. They also demand the dissolution of Parliament and the holding of early parliamentary elections, while the political blocs insist on their right to submit their candidates for the position .
