A statement of the Information Office of the Prime Minister said, "The National Security Council held its periodic session yesterday, headed by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Adel Abdel-Mahdi, who presided over part of the session and presented that the status of the Commander-in-Chief is valid as Prime Minister in accordance with Article 78 of the Constitution."
