The Independent Electoral Commission, on Thursday, replied to inquiries regarding its administrative, technical, and logistical capabilities to hold early elections.
And the commission said, in a statement received by / Mawazine News / a copy of it, that "the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission realizes the size of the tasks entrusted to it, and the importance of speeding up early parliamentary elections."
The statement added, "Concerning the inquiries about the ability of the commission and its administrative, technical and logistical readiness to conduct these elections, we would like to make it clear: The conduct of a fair electoral process in accordance with legal and international standards requires the expedited parliament to complete the procedures of the electoral law legislation and the tables attached to it that determine the electoral districts and the number of seats Elections for each constituency and delineate the boundaries of the electoral constituency in a precise manner, at that time, the commission can suggest a date for holding the elections according to what is stipulated in the electoral law, taking into consideration that the date be as soon as possible.
He continued, "The Board of Commissioners, and based on the Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019, is working hard to create the technical and logistical measures necessary to hold elections in accordance with international standards to protect the integrity and transparency of the elections.
