Former MP Wael Abdel Latif said: "Former Prime Minister [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/177/%D9%86%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%83%D9%8A]Nuri al-Maliki[/url] may be the strongest candidate for the post of Prime Minister after the failure to pass the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi."
And Abdul Latif said in a televised statement: "The birth of the Abdul Mahdi government was not legal in terms of legal and constitutional, and that his resignation was a political maneuver, and Al-Halbousi was wrong to accept the resignation."
He explained: "The former Prime Minister [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/177/%D9%86%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%83%D9%8A]Nuri al-Maliki[/url] may be the strongest candidate for prime minister after the failure to pass the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi in parliament."
He pointed out: "Al-Maliki is widely accepted to take over the new government from the Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish blocs, as there is agreement among them on his assumption of the presidency of the new cabinet."
