United States and Britain pledged to hold perpetrators of the attack on Taji accountable.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his British counterpart Dominic Rapp stressed in a phone call that "those responsible for these attacks must be held accountable," according to a statement issued by the State Department.
No one has claimed responsibility for the missile attack on the military base, but Washington usually accuses Shi'ite factions loyal to Iran of launching similar attacks, in the context of the tension between Iran and the United States for months. This attack is the 22nd since the end of October against American interests in Iraq.
An official in the US-led international coalition confirmed that the attack resulted in many injuries ranging from minor to severe, and the official did not specify the nationalities of the wounded. Ended 29 / A 43
