    The new morning is following a number of activities and events of the University of Basra
    Basra - Saadi Al-Sanad:
    Basra University’s colleges and scientific centers witnessed during the current month of March many activities and events in a number of specializations serving the community and the university’s scientific march.
    Modern directions of the e-learning project
    , the College of Engineering at the University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the modern orientations of the e-learning project in Iraqi universities. The symposium included a number of axes, namely the definition of distances, resources and sources of open education and interactive educational videos with a brief explanation of electronic tests in addition to work requirements and how teachers are treated With this side.
    The symposium aims to demonstrate the importance of working in the field of e-learning because it meets the needs of students who are unable to attend classes and spread it globally and join global universities. For his part, President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi explained that the university seeks to improve its scientific outputs welcome the idea and the importance of its implementation.

    Psychological counseling
    The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a symposium on the guide of psychological counseling and comprehensive educational guidance in educational institutions.
    The symposium presented by the lecturer Zainab Abbas Ajeel aims to introduce the tasks of the psychological counseling and educational guidance unit and to provide the appropriate mechanisms to provide support to the elements of the educational system and develop their skills and capabilities to achieve proper psychological and professional compatibility.
    The symposium included a discussion of several axes on the concept of psychological counseling and services provided to develop the capabilities of individuals and the proper selection and discrimination of decisions to achieve goals.
    The symposium recommended the preparation of an annual plan for educational programs and activities. It was also proposed to set a budget to provide the requirements for the required activities and events and work to discover students with special skills and those with intelligence and talented people, support and encourage them, and finally cooperate with faculty members to diagnose and treat cases of reluctant students.

    Writing a research project
    The College of Science organized a scientific lecture entitled (How to write a successful research project to obtain international support) with the participation of a number of teachers and graduate students at the college.
    The lecture aims to provide detailed information on the methods of preparing the research project and the techniques required to make it eligible for international financial support, including the topic of innovative or distinctive research, as well as the distinct results that can be obtained and which may have a regional or global impact.
    The lecture presented by Dr. Adel Yaqoub Al-Handal showed that internationally supported research projects are among the most effective means for academic cooperation between researchers in different countries at the present time and one in every five research published in the leading journals is the product of internationally supported projects and involving researchers from universities and institutes in several countries.
    The lecture also included the most important paragraphs of the research project, how to write it, ways to write the title of the research, summary and introduction, methods of work and ethics, taking into account during the research and the entities or institutions that will benefit from the research and all these distinct ideas should be written in an influential and convincing way for the bodies or institutions that will support the research morally and financially.
    The lecture recommended that the submitted research project should be with the contribution of an integrated working group that defines the competence of each individual in them as well as the role of each in the research and finally determine the estimated cost of the research and determine that in detail for each part of the research stages

    Supporting children with serious diseases
    The two colleges of Education for Humanities and the College of Medicine at the University of Basra, in cooperation with Basra Specialist Hospital, organized a workshop on supporting children with serious diseases.
    The workshop, entitled "Supporting Children with Dangerous Diseases and People with Human Responsibility", aims to empower the children with serious diseases.
    The workshop included two lectures given by Dr. Abdel Mohsen Abdel Hussein on (the psychological empowerment of health care providers and their positive effects in conquering cancer and a step towards treatment..with two steps towards rehabilitation and integration, while Dr. Maida Mardan gave two lectures, namely: (instructions for health care professionals) and (management Emotions for cancer patients)
    The workshop was attended by a number of doctors, pharmacists, nurses and hospital staff who are interested in this matter, and the lecturers presented to the hospital administration some suggestions for developing psychological services provided to the injured and their families.

    Plant diversity in the Shatt al-Arab and the marshes of Iraq
    and the College of Sciences discussed a research entitled (Plant diversity in the Shatt al-Arab, Huri al-Jabaybish, and Eastern Hammar - southern Iraq). Aquatic plants found in the study areas and studying some physical and chemical properties of water and soil and their effect on the growth and spread of aquatic plants.
    The study recommended the adoption of a guide to the quality of environmental health as an easy and efficient way of continuous monitoring by environmental agencies to determine pollution in the marsh waters and the Shatt al-Arab and the use of modern methods in the exploitation of natural resources in the region and in a manner that maintains the continued existence of biological diversity because of its direct relationship with the existence of man and the reasons for its survival.
