, The Central Bank of Iraq announced, on Tuesday, to cancel the commission for the use of electronic payment devices for a period of six months, with the aim of encouraging demand for them.
The bank said in a statement / Mawazine News / received a copy of it, that "in support of the current stage in the country and to encourage the use of electronic payment tools, the Central Bank of Iraq decided to make commissions on the merchant and the citizen when using the point of sale devices (zero) for a period of six months starting from today" .
He added: "While this bank appreciates the initiative of licensed payment service providers to contribute to supporting and providing financial and banking products and services, it calls them to encourage merchants to use electronic payment tools through (adopting an incentive system, facilitating the granting of credit, encouragement and support during the increased use of Cards or electronic wallets).
The statement continued that "the Central Bank of Iraq had previously issued an invitation to use electronic payment tools in financial dealings and reduce cash handling in order to protect public health." Ended 29 / A 43
