Parliamentary human rights call on the government to grant a special amnesty to sick and elderly prisoners
The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee called on the government, the parliament and the legal committee to study the conditions of Iraqi prisons and launch a special amnesty for the sick and the elderly.
"We call on [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/137/%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%A8]the parliament, the[/url] government and the legal committee to study the conditions of Iraqi prisons and to grant a special amnesty to the sick and the elderly for the convicts and those arrested for cases that are almost simple, except for terrorism and drugs, sabotage of the state economy, what the government deems appropriate and what it deems appropriate after studying it," the committee said in a press release .
The appeals presidents called for the implementation of the Supreme Judicial Council’s decision to refer some of those arrested in whose cases the guaranty is available to release them temporarily until the end of this dangerous epidemic, which is spreading rapidly in human gatherings.
