The Czech Ministry of Defense announced, on Wednesday, the withdrawal of its military forces operating in Iraq, as a result of security threats and the spread of the Coruna virus.
The ministry said, in a statement, that "an Airbus A-319 military plane landed with thirty members of the fourth task force of the Czech Republic's army in Iraq, in the city of Prague."
She added, "The fourth task force of the Czech Republic's army in Iraq is made up of soldiers holding various positions in the International Staff with the NATO mission in Iraq, and members of chemical police training units."
In turn, the commander of operations headquarters Major General Joseph Kubiko said: "We are withdrawing our forces temporarily due to a significant decrease in their operational tasks," noting that "this is due to security threats, the Corona virus epidemic, and restructuring."
