{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Commerce revealed its stock of food ration items in light of the Corona virus crisis in the country.
"The ministry continues to provide all items of the ration card to the governorates of Iraq and the Kurdistan region, and we have asked the crisis cell to provide all the needs in the warehouses, for use in emergency cases," said ministry spokesman Mohamed Hanoun in a press statement.
"We will not have problems for five months, and we hope that there will be no need to provide more food as the spread of the Coruna virus develops," he added.
The Ministry of Trade said yesterday, Wednesday, that it “advised the Cabinet that it needs to import 1 million tons of wheat and 250,000 tons of rice in order to support its food program and to strengthen strategic stocks in the coming months.”
