On Saturday, a group of former candidates for the House of Representatives called on the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, to intervene in their fairness.

The candidates, who are: Mahmoud Hussein Al-Qaisi, a substitute for Ala Tahsin Talabani, Nuran Abdul Amir, a substitute for Ammar Al-Shibli , Najat Khalaf Al-Ta’y, a substitute for Mudar Maan Al-Karawi , Safi Hadi Al-Shammari as a substitute for Hawazen Al-Shammari, Zainab Abdul-Hamid Al-Haiti, a substitute for Muhammad Nasser Al-Karbouli ) In a message addressed to Zidane, seen by Alsumaria News: "We are a group of the winning candidates in the 2018 parliamentary elections, who were excluded from reaching the parliament dome, due to political pressure and interference by some of the leaders of the blocs and parties, by manipulating the seat distribution system No. (12) for the year 2018, the third step thereof T concerning the distribution of seats quota of women. "

And they explained, "This came with the existence of a sponsor of evidence and data that prove this with the decisions of the Federal Court ruling for some of our colleagues who were excluded in the same way and obtaining their electoral benefits and returning to the House of Representatives."

They added that, "During the period that followed the announcement of the names of the winners and the start of Parliament's actions, we undertook many efforts and actions to raise the grievance that had occurred to us, but that was all directed at procrastination and an unjustified and unexplained postponement by the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi ."

The candidates emphasized, "Article 52 of the Iraqi constitution states that the parliament is required to decide on the validity of the membership of its members within thirty days from the date of registration of the objection, by a majority of two-thirds of its members, but Al-Halbusi postponed deliberately raising the issue, on the pretext that the quorum for the meeting was not completed. We have certain evidence that is beyond doubt that can be presented to you, proving that the quorum has been achieved at least five times, without any initiative by the President of the Council to raise the complaints of the excluded winners.

And they stated, "Many of us made contact with the media, and appealed to legal and political bodies to intervene to resolve the matter, and presented the appeals submitted by us, according to the provisions of the Iraqi laws in force, but none of that happened, due to partisan pressure and political purposes." ".

The candidates continued, "We address you today as the judicial authority in the country, which is charged with protecting the constitution and watching over the implementation of its provisions, and ensuring that parties and political blocs do not neglect the law, and we ask you to intervene to protect democracy that is threatened with deviating its path, after clear frauds that the Presidency of the Council undertook, although we We did not ask for more than our right guaranteed by the constitution to present our appeals to Parliament, but we were faced with only procrastination and evasive action. "

They emphasized: "We place our full confidence in you as honest guards of the constitution, and we ask you to intervene to put an end to some who threaten the political process with their practices that are against the law. We all hope that we will obtain justice on your hands, which has always stood with justice and sided with the oppressed, which were the circumstances and consequences."
