    Information / Basra ..
The Federation of Trade Unions in Basra confirmed today, Saturday, its rejection of the dismissal of some of the investment companies in the governorate due to the Corona virus crisis, noting that there are dozens of workers who lost their jobs without any reason.
"Some investment companies operating in the field of oil and infrastructure have laid off some of their workers because of the conditions that the country is going through as a result of the spread of the Corona virus," union president Jassem Al-Salhi said in a statement to Information Agency.
Al-Salhi pointed out that “companies deal with their workers by laying them off or forcing them to take leave without pay that is considered a violation of the applicable labor law No. (37) for the year 2015.”
He stressed that "companies must stop all procedures by laying off workers or granting them leave without pay, and companies that violate the law bear all legal consequences before the labor court."
Al-Salhi pointed out that “such measures will increase the armies of the unemployed and increase the suffering of the working class in Basra Governorate and cause living problems.” End / 25p
