A government source said, on Wednesday, that the Iraqi government and in consultation with the Finance Ministry and parliamentary committees are studying the possibility of deducting part of the salaries of government and parliamentary personalities.
The source said, to "Al-Ahed News", "The government held charter sessions with a delegation from the Finance Ministry and parliamentary committees concerned with the file to reach a formula for a decision on reducing the salaries of government officials and parliamentarians due to the Corona crisis and low oil prices."
He added, "If the government reaches a formula for a decision, then it is trying to steer clear of prejudice to the salaries of the middle and poor classes."
He continued, "The salary cuts for high figures may be around 25% and lower, according to the position, salary and allocations of the position."
