"I urge international organizations to carry out their duties ... We are a member of the International Monetary Fund ... there should be no discrimination in granting loans," said Rouhani, in a cabinet meeting broadcast by state television.
The Iranian president also criticized the US sanctions on his country, describing them as "economic and medical terrorism."
And Iran announced last month that it had requested financial support from the International Monetary Fund of $ 5 billion to cope with the outbreak of the Corona virus, which is emerging in the country.
"I sent a request to the head of the International Monetary Fund to use Iran’s right to borrow $ 5 billion quickly to help us alleviate the negative effects on our economy after the spread of the Corona virus in the country," Iranian Central Bank President Abdel Nasser Hamti said on Instagram.
While Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said in a tweet on Twitter, that Iran asked the International Monetary Fund ("emergency funding") to combat the outbreak of the Corona virus, which the country has been hit hard by.
