{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning described the country's economic and financial situation as "very difficult".
Undersecretary Maher Hammad said, in a press statement, that "Iraq went through more difficult conditions than that in the year 2014 and surpassed it, even if the current crisis was a result of the Corona pandemic and low oil prices."
And that "the government went to overcome this crisis with two reformist paths (far and medium-term). The first relates that the economy of Iraq should not remain linked to oil whose price is subject to fluctuations from time to time, and the medium-term path is to take quick measures, and the government is going in these two directions and there is a daily meeting and meeting and procedures Take, because the scale of the problem is large. "
He added that "among the measures that were taken is to pressure expenditures on all joints of the state in all its sectors and try to protect the fragile and poor layers of society and the private sector," stressing that "the stage requires a unified decision and political will and a strong government to take decisions that contribute to reducing the amount of damage because the problem is great."
Hammad continued, "The issue of reducing the salaries of employees is very difficult for the state, and the government is trying not to resort to it and keep it out of mind, but a new salary structure must be made, as the state spends 70 trillion dinars on salaries, while oil revenues have only achieved 30 trillion dinars. And it is not reasonable for the government to spend the revenues it enters into the salaries of employees, and to neglect the rest of society, given that the government has canceled the state’s expenses in all its joints.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning revealed that "any decision will be issued; with it decisions will be issued to complement employees' mitigation, including withholding loans, reducing state rents, reducing working hours and allowing the employee to work outside the official working hours."
He stressed that " the current month , the salaries have not been compromised , " he said . "Iraq also will resort to internal and external loans to overcome this crisis , the vehicle" .anthy
